‘Eastsiders’ debuts in Omega Comics Presents

Omega Comics Presents Eastsiders

The “pilot” episode of Eastsiders made its published debut in the March 2014 issue of Omega Comics Presents from Pop! Goes the Icon. Expanding on the eight-page preview that saw a limited print run at conventions in 2013, the 20-page story introduces readers to the district of Blackcross in London’s East End, where an ensemble of distinctive characters find their lives unwillingly intertwined following mysterious gangland murders near the Docklands.

Dustin Cabeal of Comic Bastards liked the “impressive storytelling” in the first chapter, declaring the issue “ended up beating my expectations.” “Eastsiders” is joined in the comic by “Hard Time,” a super-villain spoof by Russell Lissau and Justin Castaneda, and an additional one-page strip by Alex De-Gruchy and Mike Kennedy. It can be purchased digitally or in print at the Pop! Goes the Icon website.
